Sourced Locally

I’ll be honest, I had a great time with this blog post (mainly because it involved me eating two puddings in one sitting). I was contacted by the East of England Co-op PR team offering me the chance to get involved with their Sourced Locally Fortnight. I’m usually the type of person who grabs whichever brand is on offer, I don’t usually give much thought to my weekly food shop so it was nice to actually take the time to see what local produce was available. I stocked up and decided on a summer dessert theme. (I may or may not have a sweet tooth. And a dessert obsession).

I used some of the ingredients seen above (c/o East of England Co-op) to create Eton Mess, Cookie Sundae and Berry Lemonade. I then went on to eat it all in one evening – totally advise against this as you will feel like a beached whale, I promise you. I’ve included the recipes below, I’m quite a lazy chef so like to throw things together quickly, which is why all of the recipes take 5 minutes or less!

My favourite local products have to be the ice cream (so creamy and you can taste that it’s homemade), the chocolate, fresh strawberries and the lemonade, although I’m yet to give the jam a try! I’m off for a second helping of Eton Mess, which will probably be followed by rocking a food baby and crying in to my bowl.
